Current Project
My current project is a text-based, strategy wargame. Here is a quick list
of it's features:
- Two-player strategy wargame
- Unlimited army size (only by memory)
- Dozens of unit and weapon types
- Realistic terrain effects
- Wide range of variable orders
- Sight is distance and condition sensitive
- Sound from movement and firing alerts you to units approx. location
- Different warhead type, eg, nuclear, chemical, biological.
- Trenches
- Land, Air and Sea units and effects
- Airlifts and parachute drops
- Radiation, cities, ariports, minefields, etc
- And many more...
And here are some of the features that may be implemented in the future:
- Unlimited players over a network - why do university work when you can
be fighting 20 of your best friends armies!
- Possibly multiple players per army, ie, one commander-in-chief gives
general orders to commanders than give the actual orders to the units.
- More unit, weapon and terrain types.
The source code will be distributed with the game and anyone can expand it
with new features as long as they send me the new code so I can update all
the other archives. And they will be credited with that part too. Currently it is being developed in Dylan.
